Description

The Search messages bar in a channel header is partially off-screen by default. When typing into the search bar, the header layout shifts horizontally and pushes other elements out of view. Specifically, the ">" toggle next to the channel name (# General) is pushed off-screen, making it impossible to open the channel/server list panel.

Clearing the search text does not restore the header layout. The UI remains shifted and the toggle stays inaccessible until the page is reloaded.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to Empirian Hall and open a channel (e.g., # General)
  2. The Search messages bar is partially off-screen by default
  3. Tap the Search messages bar and begin typing a sentence
  4. Te header elements shift left and the ">" toggle beside the channel name is pushed off-screen
  5. Clear the text in the Search messages bar
  6. The header layout does not return to normal and the toggle remains off-screen / inaccessible

Expected Behavior

  • The Search messages bar should be fully visible within the channel header on mobile
  • Typing in the search bar should not shift the header layout in a way that hides other controls
  • The ">" toggle next to the channel name should remain visible and clickable at all times
  • Clearing the search text should restore the header layout to its original state and without shifting

Actual Behavior

  • The Search messages bar is partially off-screen by default
  • Typing in the search bar shifts header elements and pushes the ">" toggle off-screen
  • The channel/server list panel toggle cannot be clicked once it is pushed off-screen
  • Clearing the search text does not restore the layout; the header remains shifted
